17 Inch Monitor
There are some people who just do not bother to think rationally before they run out and purchase something. Quite a number of them have lots of money to spend and hence think that they should but the biggest that their money can. However the rule does not hold good in all cases. There are quite a number of people who buy a 17 inch monitor just because they have a fancy for it. If one genuinely requires a 17 inch monitor, it is a different story, but someone who spends his whole day typing out long documents just does not require a 17 inch monitor. If you are into the desk top publishing business and need to have several programs open on the screen at all times, then it helps by option in for a 17 inch monitor, otherwise not. There is no doubt that the prices of 17 inch monitors have tumbled down in the last couple of years, especially the CRT ones. With the prices of LCD monitors becoming cheaper with every passing month and the sales of CRT monitors becoming stagnant, the manufacturers have no option left apart than reducing the prices of 17 inch monitors. While this does open up a whole new segment, do you really require it? Why go for the same just because it is being offered for a low price and while you are facing no problems with the 15 inch ones? The prices have come down and they will come down further hence there is no need to hurry for these monsters that occupy a lot of real estate on your desk top, unless you genuinely need them. However graphic artists always love to work using a bigger screen and for them the 17 inch monitors are a must. There are times when they have to blow up pictures many times over and if they were using a small monitor, they would have to scroll a lot to reach different parts of the enlarged picture. There are people who use Excel for complicated formulas and the spreadsheets they create runs into many columns. They too will benefit by going in for a 17 inch monitor. However, one should not forget that these 17 inch monitors occupy a huge space on the table and apart from that they also consume a lot of power. If you have no absolute necessity for them, do not waste your money. However if you want to work and use the same screen to watch TV too, then it is advisable to go in for a 17 inch monitor. The clarity of the pictures that are beamed through the cable will show far more clarity on a 17 inch monitor than on a small one. It is better to check out the pros and cons before one makes any investment and the same holds true for 17 inch monitors too. Just because they are available for a cheap rate does not mean that you have to purchase them, even if not required. Buy 17" Monitors
